Burnley visit The Emirates for today’s Premier League tie with the home side still in shock over the broken leg picked up by Ramsey last weekend. The last time Arsenal suffered such a horrific injury to their side marked a downfall in the team’s form as they dropped two places in the league and failed to win in four matches. While fans are set to display a banner in tribute to the injured player, Arsenal can temporarily go top with a victory today, however it must be off a deficit of four goals. With Aaron Ramsey obviously missing and Alex Song facing suspension, Arsene Wenger will make changes to his squad before the visit of the Clarets.

Both Arshavin and Abou Diaby are back competing for a place after recovering from knocks. Meanwhile, Burnley are confident that Scottish international Steven Fletcher can feature after suffering a broken hand that kept him out of the midweek friendly against the Czech Republic. After recovering from a calf injury, Graham Alexander is expected to return for today’s game.

After an embarassing defeat in Portugal midweek, Arsenal return to league action as The Black Cats visit the Emirates for this 3 o’clock kick off. Sunderland have already inflicted defeat on The Gunners this season, however since that memorable day Steve Bruce and his side they have not won a league match. The side’s only success since Darren Bent scored the winner in November has been a 3-0 win over Barrow in the cup as fans grow in frustration at the lack of progress from their side.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s dissappointing start to 2010 continued as two remarkable errors cost the side a first leg advantage over Porto. Regardless of the legitimacy of the second goal as a quick free kick was rolled into the net as Arsenal’s backline looked on, Arsene Wenger has called for concentration and better discipline as the side prepare to recapture a winning form and push as title contenders in the Premier League. The match capped a frustrating night for Arsenal and one that was publicy discussed by Gunner’s captain Cesc Fabregas.

After a poor visual display from Fabianski midweek, the injured Almunia may be set to return between the posts for Arsenal. A damaged finger was likely to continue to keep the Spanish goalkeeper on the sidelines however his return may be brought forward. Expect Alex Song to make his return while The Gunners will enter the match without Abou Diaby as the player nurses a knee knock. Both Gallas and Arshavin remain out. Sunderland will be without Andy Reid due to a hamstring pull while the returning Steed Malbranque is not quite ready to feature for his side. Injury worries have placed doubts over Richardson, Mensah and Ferdinand while suspensions definitely rule out both Meyler and Cattermole.

An exciting night of English footy commences as Liverpool travel to the Emirates to face The Gunners in a clash of the title hopefuls at the top of the division. With the league’s top two sides creating a chunky defecit between themselves and the battling teams below them, this match will herald a chance for either the 3rd placed Arsenal or 4th position Liverpool to get back into the thick of the fight at the summit of the Premier League. 5 points separate these two sides before tonight’s clash at The Emirates, however if Arsenal slip up like they have done in their previous 3 league matches then this lead could be lessened to just 2 points. The home side may have Porto in their sights for next weekend’s action, however Arsene Wenger will deliver fans a full strength squad for this priority clash with The Reds of Merseyside.

A 0-0 draw followed by two consecutive defeats represents one of Arsenals worse patches of form this season, however it cannot be underestimated that this fixture pile-up see’s The Gunners face three of the league’s “big four” sides in a row. For the visitors, the mediocre form of 2009 seems to have vanished and the side have pulled themselves back into European contention at least without dropping points in their last five outings. A derby win at the weekend will have boosted confidence for the Anfield club who have a tough February schedule ahead of them with European and tricky away trips in the league to contend with.

Rafael Benitez claimed his side could guarantee fans a “top four finish”, a statement frowned upon by many Reds fans. However, just a few weeks after making that bold comment, the side are in fourth place and look to only further this in the coming weeks. With defensive problems fixed, the side haven’t conceded in their last four matches, a feat applauded by most onlookers. Whether the strong Liverpool backline can contend with the firepower in the ranks of Arsenal remains to be seen.

Nicklas Bendtner is in line for a surprise return after being absent from first team duty since the middle of October last year. With forward Eduardo out due to injury, his return may come at the perfect moment for a side who have only scored twice in their last four matches and require a much needed boost in the striking department. Liverpool meanwhile, enter tonight’s match without the services of big Greek international defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos. The former Rangers man has landed himself a 3 game suspension after his ordering off in the Merseyside derby at the weekend. Martin Skrtel is waiting in the wings to replace the absent defender however The Reds will be without Alberto Aquilani who has pulled out of the squad due to illness.

So it appears that Arsenal are in a slight downfall while Liverpool are rising in form every week, however it cannot be forgotten that The Reds have not won away to Arsenal in the last 10 years. It requires a long look back to the year 2000 when a Titi Camara goal sealed Liverpool’s last victory in London over The Gunners. If Liverpool can snatch a win and hold onto a clean sheet, it will represent one of their best patches of form seen in years. It has been 3 years since Liverpool went on a 5 match run without conceding a goal, tonight they are just 90 minutes away from repeating this statistic.

Today heralds the most anticipated match of January as Manchester United make their way to The Emirates Stadium to face a Gunners side who have pulled themselves back into the title race and now sit neck and neck with Utd adding some extra juice to an already heated rivalry. A late John Terry strike on Saturday meant that Chelsea regained top position in the division, leaving Utd and Arsenal to battle this one out and decide the favourites to push for second place this season. Utd lead their 3rd placed rivals by a single point and trail the league leaders by four. A win here for Man U would narrow the gap immensely, however the Blues would then hold a game in hand over both sides. The two rivals last met at the start of the season when an angered Arsene Wenger kicked a bottle and was ordered to the stands by the referee. Moments later the Gunners boss found himself amidst a sea of Manchester Utd fans in a fiery end to the 2-1 victory for The Red Devils in one of the league’s hottest derby matches of the season.

Just weeks ago, everyone wrote of The Gunners’ chances of success in the Premiership this season. However as time has passed and points have been dropped, the London side (much like their Manchester rivals) very briefly took top spot in the division as postponements caused chaos to the top of Europe’s most watched football league. While both sides will be hoping that Chelsea will drop points in the coming weeks, today’s game will go a long way to deciding who remains a true title contender come the final weeks of the 2009-2010 season.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is in contention to make a start against Man U. It has been over three months since the forward has been in action for The Gunners, however with Eduardo out with a hamstring tear, the Danish star may be drafted in at the Emirates. With Thomas Vermaelen out, Sol Campbell awaits in the wings as a replacement while both Alex Song and Eboue are at Arsene Wenger’s disposal. Alex Ferguson must contend with the absence of Rio Ferdinand as the England international begins a 4 match suspension after a failure in his appeal. The charge relates to a clash with Fagan of Hull City. Ferdinands departure means that a place is available for Nemanja Vidic in defence. Long term absentees John O’Shea and Hargreaves both remain out.

The 42nd Arsenal – Man U derby with both Ferguson and Wenger at the helm comes with the Reds in command on the past statistics between both sides. The Scotsman holds a 16-14 record over The Gunners boss with 12 draws played out during this time. Man U have failed to leave victorious on their last four visits to The Emirates, however are unbeaten in their last four matches against Arsenal. Whoever leaves with all 3 points today is anyones guess however the match is set to be a memorable encounter as we bring you one of Europe’s top derby clashes.

Villa Park plays host to a battle of the Premier League’s ‘European and Title Hopefuls’ as The Gunners face Aston Villa in a match that will look likely to reshape the top of the division. While victory for the home side will see Martin O’Neills men back into the top 5 with a game in hand over some of their near rivals, Arsenal will be looking for a win that will place them top of the English Premiership, a feat that looked impossible with some rather mediocre early form this season from the London club. A win for Arsene Wenger could see Arsenal go a point above Manchester Utd having both played 23 matches, leading a 3-way battle as Chelsea would trail The Gunners by 3 points with a match in hand. It is important to also keep in mind, that Chelsea are also in action tonight, therefore the result of their match will have impact also on how the top position is shaped.

Aston Villa have not scored in domestic action since their defeat to Arsenal last month, but surprisingly have won all four cup ties they have been involved in with goals being fired in from all angles. Although the side may not look perfectly secure at the back, Villa have notched up 9 goals in their last 2 matches in cup action in January. Arsenal meanwhile are on a 9 game unbeaten streak in the league, however a shock 3-1 defeat in the FA Cup at the weekend showed that the side still have issues to be sorted as Arsene Wenger takes The Gunners into the 2nd half of the Premiership season. However the Arsenal side who suffered defeat at the weekend were a young and changed team to the more commonly seen line-up as Arsene Wenger rested players with a torrent of tough matches upcoming for his side in the league.

A shin injury will keep Stephen Warnock out of this match joining both John Carew and Nigel Reo-Croker on the sidelines. Petrov may feature for the home side however an Achilles problem is hampering the progress of the Bulgarian player. Arsenal’s understrength line-up on display in the defeat to Stoke is likely to be banished as the regular look eleven return to the pitch for The Gunners. Once again however, both Bendtner and Abou Diaby are missing due to leg injuries.

Arsenal are undefeated against Villa away from home for over 10 years, however the home side will look to set a new record that has been in place since 1994 – defeat all of the league’s ‘big four’ sides in one season. It will surely prove an uphill task for Martin O’Neills men as Villa have only defeated Arsenal once in the last 22 encounters between the two sides. As James Milner hopes to make his 300th run-out for the club, Villa will be desperate to get on the scoresheet as the side face going 4 league matches without a goal, a run of poor scoring form which has not occured for the club since 2001. While the side will look to their strikers to break down a stubborn Arsenal defence, they face the league’s top scoring side, with Arsenal holding a record of 59 goals in their 22 matches this season so far. With so much to play for, tonight’s match is sure to be one to remember.

The Gunners visit The Britannia Stadium to face The Potters in this ‘all premiership’ 4th round tie to kick start Sunday’s coverage of England’s top cup competition. Stoke’s passage to this stage of the tournament began with a convincing 3-1 win over lower-league York City, however in facing Arsenal the side will be given a real test against a Premier League club in top form and pushing for a return to domestic success. The uphill challenge facing Stoke can be seen by glancing at the 23 point gap between the sides in the league while Arsenal comfortably defeated the side 2-0 in December.

Arsenal have held the FA Cup on 10 occasions in their long history and with the side in good form as of late will be desperate to return as cup holders, a feat last achieved for the side in 2005. Stoke have yet to make an FA Cup final since their birth in 1863 and will be all to aware of the difficulty in reaching the next round with an unfortunate drawing against one of the top favourites to take the trophy. Tony Pulis will lead his side out against Arsenal for the 90th time in the club’s history and even though underdog status is present for the home side, Arsenal have not won away from home against The Potters since 1990.

Both Rory Delap and Abdoulaye Faye are fit after shaking off recent knocks from league duty. It is thought that both players will be included in Tony Pulis’ team sheet. With only a medical in the way of former England international David James signing for Stoke it looks likely that the side will capture the world class goalkeeper on loan for the remainder of the 2010 season. However, his signing comes too late to see him feature in today’s game giving Sorensen the chance to keep his position between the posts. Arsene Wenger enters the tie without Diaby due to a calf injury while a shoulder knock means that defender Bacary Sagna will be sidelined. Gunner’s hero Sol Campbell is set to feature alongside the returning Silvestre.

Stoke City have won 2 of their previous 3 matches and will look to their recent success as a confidence boost against a strong Arsenal squad who are undefeated in the last 9 games. Long serving referee Martin Atkinson will keep order over this match.

Arsenal face Bolton tonight in a tough clash for both teams as they both have very important personal goals. Arsenals are still in contention for the title and will push for a win against Bolton in order to gain a place above Manchester United and close the gap on Chelsea. Bolton also need a win under new manager Owen Coyle to push themselves further up the table and out of the relegation dog fight which is starting pan out.

Arsene Wenger and Arsenal fans will be happy to hear the return of their England starlet Walcott returning to the squad, they will be hoping he can provide the pace down the wing in order to crack down a sturdy Bolton defence.

Arsenal also welcome back the return of Brazilian youngster Denilson to the team, he has missed out on two games from an injury that occurred not that long ago. He may make a first team return lining up along the side of their team captain Cesc Fabregas who will also be fit for the match at the Emirate’s stadium.

Arsenal and England veteran Sol Campbell will be expected to undergo another weeks training before making an appearance in the team. Arsene Wenger chose to sign Campbell on a free last week but it’s been a long time since he has trained with a club, and needs to regain fitness before starting.

Arsenal will miss out on Alexandre Song and Emmanuel Eboue as they participate for their nations in the African Nations Cup in Angola. Nicklas Bendter, Keiran Gibbs, Johan Djourou will be out as well as Dutch attacker Robin Van Persie who is suffering from a ankle injury.

Owen Coyle has nearly a whole fully fit squad at his expense against Arsenal this Wednesday night, so he will have no excuses if his team fail to get a result. The only absentee from the Arsenal squad is Danny Shittu who is also attending the African Nations Cup with his nation Nigeria.

Bolton will be without Joey O’Brien and Sean David as they suffer from long term injuries although all short term injuries have been cleared up, leaving Coyle with a fit squad ready for his trip to the Emirates.

Bolton Wanderers host the Gunners this weekend at the Reebok stadium, where new Bolton manager Owen Coyle will have a great chance to prove to his fans what he is capable of.  The manager was appointed just this week after Gary Megson was sacked after a poor run of results and he will be willing to show to his fans and players what direction Bolton will go in. Arsenal will however have different ideas for Owen Coyle as they look for another win after drawing last week to a impressive Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Bolton look for a win as they current lie 18th in the table, if they do not get any points from this game, and the ones coming, then relegation could be a serious issue for Bolton come towards the end of the season.

Arsenal although look good for their money, they currently sit third in the table with a game in hand, and if they can conquer Bolton and win their games  in hand, they will leap above off-form Manchester United into second position. Arsenal believe they are still very much in the hunt for the title, with Chelsea currently leading the pack in first position.

BWFC however, are unbeaten in four games and will try and build on this by beating Arsenal as they visit the Reebok stadium, or trying to earn a point against the creative, stylish Arsenal.

Kevin Davies and Mark Davies look to both make a return to the team this week after recovering from a minor virus that has hit the club this week.  Joey ‘O Brian and Sean Davis will be unavailable though as they are suffering from long-term injuries.

Arsenal’s Spanish captain Cesc Fabregas will make his way back into the squad. He has been out injured for two weeks after going off against Aston Villa in a 3-0 win for the Gunners. Despite this, young Brazilian Denilson will miss the game with a groin injury, he won’t make the trip up to the Reebok Stadium. Nicolas Bendter is also out with a groin injury, and won’t be fit and ready for another two weeks says the clubs medical staff.

Gael Clichy is expected to make a return to the Arsenal bench after being sidelined with a back injury. Despite this, former Gunner and now current Gunner will not make the squad after being resigned by manager Arsene Wenger earlier this week.

England’s stand out match today and one of only 3 remaining top tier fixtures sees The Toffees visit The Emirates to face The Gunners.

While snow has ravaged 4 other Premier League ties, the action is all set to go in London with Everton having a perfect chance to take 10th spot in the division with a win against the league’s 3rd placed side. However, Arsenal will be desperate to use this 3 o’clock fixture as a warning to 2nd placed Utd (who play later in the day), as the Gunners have a chance to overtake their rivals by a point with victory against the Merseyside club.

The fact also still remains that even if Utd take 3 points in the late kick-off, Arsenal will still hold a game in hand meaning victory is essential here to present a real challenge as title contenders for the Premiership crown.

The Gunners are undefeated in their previous 6 games and have taken a full 9 points from their last 3 outings. Meanwhile, after a very shakey November for the visitors, Everton are undefeated in their last 4, chalking up 2 consecutive victories in their previous home ties. It remains to be seen if David Moyes and his side will be able to hold up a strong defence against the striking power of Arsene Wenger’s side.

The Toffees will visit London looking for revenge from their August fixture against Arsenal in which The Gunners left Goodison with a 6-1 win.

Arsene Wenger will be boosted by the news that Denilson has made a full recovery from a back injury and will be available for today’s game. Both Arshavin and Rosicky are also fit and ready to feature.

Cesc Fabregas will miss yet another match as he battles with an injured hamstring. Arsene Wenger has no suspension worries going into this one.

With striker Louis Saha a major doubt with a knock, Landon Donovan may receive his club debut. David Moyes will be without Yakubu due to committments for the African Cup of Nations while Jo is out with a club-based suspension.

Gosling and Distin remain out with hamstring pulls and as the injuries pile up for Everton, the side will be way of the fact it has been 14 years since they defeated The Gunners away from home. The home side have not conceded a goal in their last 3 matches at home and with their defence looking confident and at times unpassable, the visitors will have to perform something special in attack if they hope to break down this backline.

3rd placed Arsenal welcome Bolton to The Emirates as the Gunners are graced with the chance to rise into 2nd place, one point ahead of rivals Man Utd.

It’s a story that’s progressed far from what could be imagined in November last year, when Arsenal were struggling to hit form and results, and a 3-0 defeat from Chelsea saw the London side trail the top by 11 points.

Victory against Bolton will not only see the side take second place, but will narrow the gap between themselves and the league leaders to a single point. Arsenal will also hope to continue their run of 4 wins on the trot, a run of form that saw 12 goals scored by The Gunners in the process. January will prove a testing month for the London side with some tricky fixtures as they look to continue their bid as Premiership title contenders.

Arsene Wenger and his side will be confident as Arsenal have won all six of their last meetings with Bolton with Wanderers last win away to the Gunners occuring in 1994. With Bolton’s recent poor form giving only one victory in their last nine, things do not look good for BWFC as Chris Evans and Steve Wigley look to restore some pride back into a side flirting dangerously in the relegation zone. The side will have received a confidence boost however, with a strong performance and 4-0 win last week in FA Cup action.

Jaaskelainen will return to the Bolton starting line-up after mising the FA Cup victory at the weekend.

Although Arsenal will still be able to field a mega-strength side, it remains a fact that their injury list pile-up has hampered the side in the first part of the season. Walcott, Van Persie, Gibbs, Bendtner, Clichy and others are all on the long term injury list for The Gunners.
